From gaming chair to gym floor
Health and fitness rarely spring to mind alongside professional gaming: long hours sitting behind a screen, little activity, poor dietary habits, a steady supply of energy drinks. There are more parallels with ATP’s desk-bound executive clients than people might expect. Hotdog29’s team, Talon Esports, wanted to change that image and invest in their players’ wellbeing, and approached ATP to build sustainable fitness routines around it. After 3 years as a professional gamer, playing up to 12 hours a day, Hotdog29 had let his health slip and had started to worry it would affect the longevity of his career.
Setting an example
As a player for a well-known esports team, Hotdog29 wanted to be a role model for other gamers and help shift how the public views esports athletes, while making himself more marketable to current and future sponsors.
As a pro player for a well-known e-sports team, I want to be a role model for the other gamers out there. I wanted to share my health and fitness journey so we can change how the public views e-sports athletes.Hotdog29

The numbers
The biggest change was a drastic improvement in his sleep, energy and stamina through the day; he wakes up more refreshed and plays with far more mental clarity. He also picked up plenty of new nutrition knowledge along the way.
I also lost 12kg and my waist is 14cm smaller. A healthier image was my main goal and I feel I have really achieved that.Hotdog29

Setting the pace for his team
Hotdog29 arrived with essentially no fitness ability, barely able to manage a single push-up. He now does more than 20 and trains regularly 3 times a week. His commitment has spread to his teammates too: some have started incorporating the mobility work he does into their own routines.
On my first session, I could barely get through the first 20 minutes, now I can finish off each hour-long session strong and feeling invigorated.Hotdog29
