A dad at 40, and a wake-up call
In his 30s, Stephen lived lavishly: eating whatever he wanted and drinking a lot, and he packed on around 20 pounds. Becoming a father to twin boys changed his priorities. His triglycerides were reading 8.4 and he had borderline hypertension, and it was important to him to bring both back under control while he was still healthy enough to keep up with his boys as they grew.
It’s been about getting back to living a healthy lifestyle. I feel great, I’ve never been more fit than at the age of 40.Stephen
Eight weeks, real numbers
Working with his ATP coach, Stephen dropped from 78kg to 70kg over eight to nine weeks. His coach measured a 7cm drop off his waistline, from 88cm to 81cm, data Stephen didn’t believe until he was shown the numbers. His cholesterol and blood pressure both returned to normal range, and his energy came back with them.

I definitely lost eight kilograms in weight. But more importantly my blood pressure is back down to normal. My cholesterol is also back down to normal.Stephen
Keeping up with the twins
The real test for Stephen was energy, not aesthetics. He wanted to be able to chase his boys around without running out of steam, and to stay involved as they grow into sports of their own. He has already started bringing them to the gym so they can see what training looks like, hoping that one day they might lift together.
As they grow, I hope that they can learn from their father as well. Hopefully, one of these days we can be training in the gym together.Stephen
A house that trains together
The change spread past Stephen too. His wife noticed his discipline around food and the gym and started taking her own walks after dinner. Between his coach’s structure and his wife covering the kids while he trained, Stephen built a routine that held past the first few weeks, powered by genuine support at home.

My coach has not just been about being supportive during that one hour, but throughout the entire eight weeks.Stephen
Stephen turned 40 fitter than he had ever been, with the numbers, and his boys, to show for it.
