Software engineer Dennis had gained COVID weight. ATP Personal Training helped him lose it.
34-year-old software engineer and keen cricketer Dennis gained weight and lost his dynamism during the COVID lockdowns. He decided to take control of his health and prioritise his well-being with ATP Personal Training.
By working with a personal training coach Dennis became much more consistent with his diet and lifestyle and drastically reduced his alcohol consumption. Now he is in the best shape of his life and enjoying increased energy, confidence, and performance in his beloved cricket matches. Transformation is within reach for anyone willing to take the first step.
Why did you decide to focus on your fitness?
Pre-COVID, I was in decent shape, but during COVID, I became more inactive and my habits changed. I developed a habit of drinking almost every day.
After COVID, when the cricket season started, I noticed that I had put on weight, lost my speed, and felt tired quickly. It was then that I decided, ‘Okay. I need to focus on my fitness.’
How have the results of your fitness journey impacted you?
The results have benefited me greatly. I feel more energetic, confident, and able to focus on my work better.
Last week, I played my first match of the season and was able to perform better because I’m feeling confident and energetic. The results are there, so I’m really happy with what we have achieved.
What would you say is the most important lesson you learned during your program with ATP?
The most important thing I realized is the consistency. No matter how hard your trainer trains you, if you don’t focus on other aspects like food, nutrition, and your routine, no matter how hard you try, you will not be able to achieve the desired results.
How does it feel to be in the best shape of your life?
At the age of 34, I’m in the best shape of my life, and the feeling is fantastic. Everyone sees a difference in me, and the feedback from them is fantastic.
We spoke to Dennis’ Coach Jasper about what they achieved together:
We set a number of goals when Dennis first came in. He joined ATP to have a change of lifestyle, lose weight, and improve his cricket performance. He tried to transform himself many times but failed due to lack of training structure, nutrition guidance, and consistency
We managed to drop 10 kilos of bodyweight in total. In addition his strength drove to new levels setting personal bests on all of lifts – chin ups he went from being able to do 3 reps to sets of 12 now.
From his feedback he feels much more athletic, energetic and explosive on the cricket field now as well.
