Diet alone wasn’t enough
Gigi had found some success in the past dieting alone, but hadn’t discovered what combining a healthy diet with weight training could do. She had tried a vegetarian diet, intermittent fasting, and a nutritionist’s plan, each with some success, but none of them left room for her social life or family commitments. Working with her ATP coach, she learned to train as well as eat well, and it changed parts of her life she hadn’t expected.

So far I lost 18 pounds and 7% of my body fat. I feel great and I feel fantastic.Gigi
A plan that worked with her life
The biggest challenge was nutrition. The plan needed to work around her social life and family commitments rather than against them, so the approach stayed balanced. Protein went up at every meal, mostly from meat, with protein shakes for an easy top-up, to help manage appetite and protect lean mass. Carbs weren’t eliminated: she kept a daily target, cut sugar and other low-value sources, and leaned on fruit, vegetables and the occasional serving of rice.

I feel more energetic and more enthusiasm in my life.Gigi
Strength she didn’t expect
Strength became a real focus too, not just fat loss. The full chin-up is still a longer-term goal, but Gigi has gone from barely holding herself on the bar to multiple controlled reps, lowering herself down slowly over 15 seconds. Alongside the strength gains, her resting heart rate also dropped by 20 beats per minute, a sign of just how much fitter she had become.
I love myself more so that I can take better care of myself as well as my two kids.Gigi
For Gigi, the training became about far more than her physique. She learned to better manage her life and prioritise her own time and worth, and says that loving herself more means she can love her family more too. It shows: more energy, more enthusiasm, and more patience for her two kids.
