Jeanne lost 6kg and looks athletic after taking control of her health and fitness by working with an ATP Personal Training Coach.

"ATP PERSONAL TRAINING IS THE KIND OF PLACE WHERE YOU IMMEDIATELY FEEL COMFORTABLE, AS EVERYBODY IS THERE TO LEARN. IT REALLY DIFFERS FROM THE 'SHOW OFF' MENTALITY ONE CAN FIND IN OTHER GYMS."

How did you discover ATP Personal Training?

My boyfriend joined the gym a few months before I decided to join myself, and told me a lot about it. He himself had joined based on a friend’s recommendation – pretty much all of our friendship group has joined since then.

What made our service stand out from other options?

To me, one of the biggest advantages is the fact that the training & meal plan is entirely customized. I liked the fact that it starts with a detailed consultation to understand what are my objectives, and how to achieve them. It does not feel like a standardized/ one-size-fits all approach, but a rather tailor made coaching. Another thing I really find different is how humble everybody is at ATP.

It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable, as everybody is there to learn. It really differs from the “show-off” mentality one can find in other gyms.

"I DO THINK IT'S SUSTAINABLE, YES. I CANNOT IMAGINE GOING MORE THAN TWO DAYS WITHOUT TRAINING NOW. I FEEL THAT I NEED IT AS A PART OF MY ROUTINE."

Why did you decide that now was the right time to get started?

Three main things motivated my decision to join:

As mentioned above, my boyfriend joined before me and told me a lot about it, which first got my attention. I saw very noticeable and fast results on him, which was very encouraging

I felt I was not getting in good shape after the lockdown, mostly struggling with stamina at futsal, and needed a way to get fitter

I then got 100% convinced after meeting my coach, with whom I had a great first chat with.

Did you find the D.N.A ( Daily Routine, Nutrition, Activity) lifestyle coaching helped you to achieve your goals?

Yes, absolutely. After about a month of training, I could see huge improvement already:

I had much more stamina at football training, and was able to do 2 hours of practice without feeling out of breath.

I was feeling much better overall (better sleep, less stress, more energy).

I could see physical improvement as well as I started to lose fat. Significantly I had started to gain knowledge on how to train and what to eat which made this more sustainable in the long term.

"I WAS SURPRISED BY HOW FAST YOU CAN SEE PROGRESS. IF YOU DO IT SERIOUSLY YOU CAN SEE RESULTS VERY FAST WHICH IS MOTIVATING. SECONDLY I WAS SHOCKED AT HOW 'EASY' IT WAS TO CHANGE MY LIFESTYLE."

What has been the greatest difference in your life since working with your ATP Personal Trainer?

I would say that it completely changed my understanding of weight training, and got me addicted. I now have a hard time imagining a week without training. I love how I am able to see progress week on week, and feel that I am getting stronger.

Although my diet changed a lot, the biggest change is probably the training part, as I am now exercising almost every day, which was not the case before. Training has become a very important part of both our lives, and we now have completely integrated it to our daily routine.

Overall, I feel much much healthier – I sleep better, I have a lot more energy, it gave me a purpose and motivation outside of work. I’d say that it is now central in my day to day life.

If there’s one thing you’d recommend to someone who’s about to start their fitness journey, what would it be?

I’d say to see it as a process, with several steps and milestones. The first few months can seem a bit hard, especially with the diet, but it’s much easier when you keep in mind that it’s a temporary phase that will bring you to another step. And once this is done, you will start another phase that will bring to a new objective.

It is a journey so it takes time, and it’s important to keep in mind the full process to really appreciate it: to see the progress made compared to where we started.

"ONE OF THE BIGGEST ADVANTAGES IS THE FACT THAT THE TRAINING AND MEAL PLAN ARE ENTIRELY CUSTOMIZED. STARTING WITH A DETAILED CONSULTATION TO UNDERSTAND MY OBJECTIVES AND HOW TO ACHIEVE THEM.
IT DOES NOT FEEL LIKE A ONE SIZE FITS ALL APPROACH, BUT RATHER TAILOR MADE COACHING."

How would you compare yourself from day one to now, in terms of fitness, mindset, physique and health?

I feel much healthier, I sleep better and have more energy. My resting heart rate dropped, I have much more stamina – overall, I feel great!

What has surprised you about the process?

First, how fast you can see the progress. Really, if you do it seriously you can see results very fast, which is very motivating. Second, how “easy” it was to change my lifestyle. It was difficult at times specifically with the diet part, but overall I am very surprised by how fast I changed how I eat, how many times per week I train, etc. I always imagined this type of lifestyle a bit unrealistic, or only for a few selected people, I always thought I would never be able to sustain it. Now I feel completely addicted.

Has the experience been different from what you expected?

I think I got into much more than what I was expecting. I had some objectives in mind, and overall had low expectations about myself. Jacqueline not only helped me to reach my objectives, but way more than that. I discovered abilities I had no idea I had – which feels great!

"I ALWAYS IMAGINED THIS TYPE OF LIFESTYLE A BIT UNREALISTIC, OR ONLY FOR A FEW SELECTED PEOPLE, I ALWAYS THOUGHT I WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO SUSTAIN IT. NOW I FEEL COMPLETELY ADDICTED."

Would you recommend this experience to your friends?

I would 100% recommend this experience – in fact I did convince a friend to join recently 🙂

I’m not sure there is a “profile” that would benefit more from this experience than another, I feel it really can fit a large variety of people. I’d say the only important thing is to have the motivation, and be willing to learn.

What advice would you give to yourself when starting out?

Trust the process – be patient, keep acknowledging the progress made, and trust that you’ll get there. And most of all: the first phase is temporary, it’s not a diet for the rest of your life 🙂

Are you confident in your ability to sustain these changes?

I do think it’s sustainable yes, as I can not imagine going more than 2 days without training now. I feel that I need it as a part of my routine, which was clearly not the case before. Moreover, I gained a lot of knowledge on training and diet, which is going to help me on the long term.
