Starting from scratch
Andrea came to ATP with no gym experience at all. Her goals were simple on paper and hard in practice: get visible abs and complete a single pull-up, something she could not do even once when she started, unable to bend her arms while hanging from the bar.
I still can’t believe how much my body has changed. I’m absolutely amazed.Andrea

Building the habit
She trained three to four times a week in the gym and used her days off to hike or run rather than rest completely. Staying in motion, more than any single session, is what kept her progressing. Her coach checked in daily to keep her on track, support she credits with getting her through the moments she might otherwise have quit.
Don’t be scared, focus on your goals, and follow your coach: they know what they’re doing.Andrea
Changing her relationship with food
Andrea is vegetarian, and giving up her favourite treats was one of the harder adjustments. Her mindset around nutrition shifted along with her body: she became more educated about her choices and stopped overeating when she felt stressed. Her coach adjusted her meal plan more than once to keep it realistic and enjoyable, rather than asking her to force down a plan that did not fit her life.

Five pull-ups later
Andrea now has the abs she set out for and can do five full pull-ups, a long way from not being able to bend her arms on the bar. She has more energy day to day, feels stronger and fitter than before, and says her confidence has carried over into other parts of her life.
My original goal was to have abs and do my first pull up. I now have abs and can do 5 full pull-ups!Andrea
The change did not stay contained to Andrea either. Watching what she did rubbed off on friends and family, several of whom have since picked up their own healthier habits and routines.
