ATP Personal Training client Pamela lost over 10kg!

Before Pamela joined ATP Personal Training, she exercised ‘sometimes’ and occasionally went for a jog. She says,”My clothes didn’t fit quite right. I had skinny arms and legs but I remained flabby around the waist and back. My husband tried to motivate me to be a bit more consistent but his advice fell on deaf ears. Then he introduced me to ATP and the rest was history.”
Pamela came for an initial consultation with ATP Coach Bianca, but was shocked at what Bianca told her could be achievable in a relatively short time. Despite her doubts about what might be possible, Pamela decided to follow Bianca’s advice and, even through multiple lockdowns and gym closures, she hasn’t looked back.
How has your training been?
I’m still learning how to exercise with correct form – focusing on the quality over the quantity of reps. I started out not being able to do any pushups at all but now I can perform them correctly and want to be able to do more! I had always thought going to the gym was such a chore, but now it has become an important (and enjoyable) part of my life.

Has getting stronger and fitter in the gym had a positive impact on your life outside of the gym?
Yes, I feel more confident overall and am comfortable trying new activities and sports. I am more independent and adventurous because I feel stronger. I feel empowered and it feels great!
I enjoy being active and my body looks for it now. I have more energy at work and I like learning about nutrition in my own time, looking for alternative healthier options to satisfy my sweet tooth. I am able to balance my healthy lifestyle with an active social life, which means I can continue like this forever!

Was there anything you were concerned about before starting? Do you still have the same concerns now?
I had always been worried that I would bulk up if I lifted weights, so I was always hesitant to lift anything heavier than 3kg in the gym. I don’t feel that way anymore at all.
Are you satisfied with your goals you have achieved thus far? / Have you reached your desired goal?
I have exceeded all my expectations. My initial motivation was just to lose weight. To be honest, I expected to maybe lose a bit of weight and for my clothes to fit like they used to (I thought it would be a bit of a bonus if they stopped pinching my waist) but I got a lot more than that – it really was a complete transformation! I’ve never looked this toned in my life and I’m maintaining healthy eating habits while balancing an active social and work life. I’m more disciplined and always striving to be consistent to maintain this lifestyle. It feels so empowering to be able to maintain the habits I learned from Bianca at ATP.
How did your ATP Personal Training Coach help you on your journey?
Bianca has taught me and continues to teach me how to exercise properly – quality over quantity. She’s patient and very thorough in her explanations. I really feel that I have her undivided attention when I am training with her. She has taken the time to understand my goals and motivation and she makes training fun and enjoyable! I love that she’s knowledgeable about healthy nutrition. Bianca has really helped me to make wiser food and drink choices that allow me to balance an active social life with my training and body goals.
