Before coming to ATP Personal Training, Alvin had never achieved the results he desired, despite training for years. We provided the structure, support and accountability he needed to get in the best shape of his life, for life.
Why did you decide that now was the right time to get started?
I first heard of ATP from my friend Kriti, with whom I had previously attended a different gym. She thought the ATP approach would suit me and advised that I give it a shot.
The holistic approach around training, nutrition, overall lifestyle, combined with the round the clock support from my personal trainer made ATP stand out from other gyms. I was surprised by the difference it makes.
While I have been working out at gyms before, I lacked a proper plan. I was curious about ATP which promised a more structured and goal-oriented approach. After the consultation and discussing with the PT, I was eager to give it a shot.
What were the greatest challenges you overcame?
Part of the reason the ATP approach is effective is that they don’t sugar-coat it: they will deliver significant results in record time, but you need to commit on making some drastic lifestyle changes.
I did not previously structure my workouts and I did not have a consistent approach to nutrition. I had to adapt. Luckily, the learning curve is steeper at the start and within a few weeks it got easier.
The holistic lifestyle approach using D.N.A. (Daily Routine, Nutrition, Activity) coaching helped me develop awareness about how the sort of training, nutrition and recovery relate to the goals I’ve set. I now feel stronger and in better shape than ever. ATP is also a great escape from work which fits nicely in my weekly routine and reinforces my work-life balance.
What do you think your partner would say has been the biggest change in your lifestyle?
My partner would say that the biggest change is how much healthier my cooking has become. I already was an avid cooker and ever since ATP helped me develop a better understanding of macro-nutrients and our own caloric needs, it’s been great trying new recipes and innovating in the kitchen.
What has surprised you about the process?
My previous gym experience had not prepared me for the level of support and involvement to expect from my personal trainer.
This was a welcome surprise that helped me keep on track, adjust our program when needed, maintain focus, and address setbacks throughout the journey.
I did not expect to see significant results so fast. Prior to ATP, I have been working out by myself for years without seeing the level of transformation achieved in a matter of months with ATP.
What does ‘beyond transformation’ look like for you? What do you plan to do with your new found fitness?
It’s not just about the training. A big part of the journey for me was to improve my understanding around nutrition and recovery and how they influence strength, gains and overall fitness.
I am now better aware of how my body will react to changes in those aspects, and I have confidence on how and when to adjust. This gives me a much stronger sense of control for the future.

I would definitely recommend this experience to those friends whom I feel would be mentally ready for the commitment.
