JC'S TRANSFORMATION JOURNEY

Before working with ATP Personal Training JC was overly focused on following a restrictive diet that, after initial success, had just stopped working. Clearly doing more of the same was not the answer. One of JC’s friends had undergone their own transformation with ATP and she wondered whether they might be able to do the same for her.

JC’s Motivation

Before ATP

“I used to restrict myself from foods that I enjoy and I’d find myself with very low energy and a frequent desire to snack.

My behavior of eating and exercising has changed. I used to believe the key to weight loss is to eat less and exercise more.

The Plan

ATP Coach Anita worked closely with JC to address her limiting beliefs and bad habits around nutrition.

“JC was obsessed with her weight and was only eating 800 calories a day. She showed me the meal plan prepared by her nutritionist and the strategy was protein restriction and there were some  key nutrients. But if you look at her, she’s like five foot four, 12 weeks postpartum and low in iron.”

“My main consideration was her being a full-time mum. She’s always sleep-deprived from nursing and changing diapers. So we were just making small changes. In terms of nutrition, I also encouraged her to include food that she enjoys. 

The Journey:

“Since starting with ATP, I have lost a total of 7kg and 10 cm around my waist.  I’m much fitter than I was pre-pregnancy. I feel physically re-oriented to myself.

My confidence as a woman is growing inside out. It is motivating and affirming knowing that I can accomplish my fitness goals while being a mother. I feel empowered. I want to be a good example to my family and to other new mothers.

Besides performance at the gym, we focus on working on my stamina outside the gym. With my knee injury, she gave me easy activities such as walking and progressing to incline treadmill. She gave me exercises to stretch at home. At the gym, we focus on building strength. 

Anita’s attention to details and knowledge to select appropriate exercises for me made me feel much more comfortable with my knee. In addition, I feel better from my back pain which was way outside my expectations.

Before knowing about ATP, I was seeing a nutritionist, eating extremely low calories and doing excessive amount of HIIT daily. I was seeing result initially, but my energy was depleting overtime. On top of a grade 1 MCL injury from jumping, I had to stop my exercise routine, my weight started to go back up. A friend of mine Maggie, who I hadn’t seen for a while, had done a transformation with Anita at ATP.
