It is easy to implement, costs nothing and can be done by anyone, anywhere, at any time, without the need for any fancy equipment or even any skill.<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-3fb280e elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"3fb280e\" data-element_type=\"section\"><div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\"><div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-ec47389\" data-id=\"ec47389\" data-element_type=\"column\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\"><div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-80223ca elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"80223ca\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-container\"><p>Working from home is currently the norm in many places, including Singapore and Hong Kong to comply with social distancing rules and keep employees safe.\u00a0 What most of us didn\u2019t expect was how we would feel when our daily routines were disrupted; some of us feel lost, some of us feel angry, and some have embraced the extra time we\u2019ve gained from not commuting.\u00a0 However it makes you feel, life is slightly different from normal, and will be for some time, so it is very important that we can maintain any positive habits we had, even if we can\u2019t access our office gym or swim 20 laps before work.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-3d8706a elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"3d8706a\" data-element_type=\"section\"><div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\"><div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-42feebf\" data-id=\"42feebf\" data-element_type=\"column\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\"><div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4b07086 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4b07086\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-container\"><p>With this in mind, our single most important tip to keep you physically and mentally healthy during any number of lockdown is this: Get Moving!<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-e33b4dd elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"e33b4dd\" data-element_type=\"section\"><div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\"><div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-d5762ef\" data-id=\"d5762ef\" data-element_type=\"column\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\"><div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-bfe0271 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"bfe0271\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">You may not realise, but even if you have a sedentary office-based job, your pre-COVID routine would likely have included some walking; from your home to the train station, from the station to your office, perhaps out and about between meetings and to lunch.\u00a0 Being confined to your home means that your level of activity has probably dropped significantly, but it can be surprisingly easy to implement some movement into your day, and it is vitally important for your health.\u00a0 Moving less and eating the same amount means that you will burn fewer calories than before, which is the perfect recipe for weight gain.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-df667b6 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"df667b6\" data-element_type=\"section\"><div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\"><div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-3e16b8b\" data-id=\"3e16b8b\" data-element_type=\"column\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\"><div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-52552f6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"52552f6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-container\"><h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Here are 5 practical ways you can get more movement into your day:<\/h3><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-f495dc2 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"f495dc2\" data-element_type=\"section\"><div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\"><div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-3209a13\" data-id=\"3209a13\" data-element_type=\"column\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\"><div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6c12955 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6c12955\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-container\"><ol><li>Wake up 20 minutes earlier than usual and go for a 15 minute walk before checking your phone. Even if it\u2019s raining, just take an umbrella!<\/li><li>Consider tracking your steps. You can get a step tracker or smart watch, but most phones now have a step tracker built in. It won\u2019t be perfectly accurate but it will give you an idea. At first just see how many steps you take in a regular home-based day. The WHO recommends 10,000 steps per day. How far are you away from this number? If 10,000 seems impossible, aim for 8000. If you currently only get 2000 per day, try for 5000 and work up from there.<\/li><li>Set aside short periods of time throughout the day and use that time to move. You could do 20 minutes mid-morning, 30 minutes at lunchtime and 20 minutes mid-afternoon. If you live in an apartment building you can walk or run up and down the stairs to get your heart rate up, or you can work out with resistance bands and your own body weight in your living room or bedroom. Even just using this time to walk around will break up your day \u2013 try to get outside if at all possible as the daylight will help ensure you get a better night\u2019s sleep.<\/li><li>Be creative! Gym equipment is designed to stimulate your muscles across a given range of motion, but that does not mean you can\u2019t replicate the movements at home. Focus on slowing everything down rather than just getting through the movement \u2013 you want (or at least we want!) you to really feel it! Remember that 1 litre of water weighs 1kg. You can use water containers as weights, or identically loaded shopping bags \u2013 but remember that this isn\u2019t necessary and you can get a really good workout using controlled movements and your own body weight.<\/li><li>Here is a very simple no-equipment workout that you can do in your own home:<\/li><\/ol><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-f0b8427 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"f0b8427\" data-element_type=\"section\"><div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\"><div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-2281c9e\" data-id=\"2281c9e\" data-element_type=\"column\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\"><div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f720664 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f720664\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-container\"><p>Perform each exercise from the sequence of 6, for 1 minute and move straight on to the next one with no rest. When you\u2019ve done all 6 exercises, which should take 6 minutes, take 1-2 minutes rest then repeat for a total of 5 sets.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-0d15729 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"0d15729\" data-element_type=\"section\"><div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\"><div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-dc15d9b\" data-id=\"dc15d9b\" data-element_type=\"column\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\"><div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-19978b9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"19978b9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-container\"><ol><li>Bodyweight push-ups (Regressed to your knees, if need be)<\/li><li>Bodyweight Squats<\/li><li>Bench Dips<\/li><li>Split Squats<\/li><li>Burpees<\/li><li>Ab Plank<\/li><li>Rest, 1 minute then repeat!<\/li><\/ol><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-32e9789 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"32e9789\" data-element_type=\"section\"><div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\"><div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-488850d\" data-id=\"488850d\" data-element_type=\"column\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\"><div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d170ef5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d170ef5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\"><div class=\"elementor-widget-container\"><h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Here&#8217;s the workout &#8211;
